WS Hawrylak School Device Policy

Ecole W.S. Hawrylak School recognizes the fact that many students carry electronic devices on them at all times and for a variety of reasons. Our school supports a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environment that contributes to enhancing student learning opportunities.  This year our technology committee with input from staff, students and parents has put together a policy to help guide technology use within the school to ensure that it respects the learning and safety of all students and staff.  Please read the attached policy as it will be communicated to students and posted in classrooms in the new year.

Please Do Not Idle Vehicles in the Bus Bay

We are asking our community to be aware of the no idle signs posted in our bus bay and to please turn off your vehicles whenever possible. The busses will be doing the same.  Unfortunately, our fresh air intakes are the stacks you see outisde the front of the school drawing in exhaust which in turn gets vented throughout the school and is causing health concerns for both staff and students.  As this is the design of the building, the best solution is for everyone to be aware of this and to make every effort to turn your vehicle off if you are stopped in front of these air intakes.  We appreciate your support in keeping our school air fresh for staff and students.
